What is an Au Pair?
Au pairs are caring, live-in childcare providers who live as an extended member of their host family and provide childcare for up to 10 hours per day and 35 hours per week. Au pairs are between the ages of 18 and 30, and come from more than 40 countries. In exchange for providing childcare, au pairs receive room, board, and a small stipend.

An au pair's responsibilities can also include:
Dropping the children off and picking them up from school or activities,
helping children with homework,
assisting in keeping the children's rooms clean,
cooking light meals for the children.

What the Au Pair should expect?
You can expect an interesting year living with a Japanese speaking, Japanese(international) family. Your role will be much like that of a big brother or sister to the children; providing loving supervision and care for up to 35-hours a week depending on the program. You will be speaking and improving your Japanese on a daily basis but also be sharing your language and culture with the family.
You will NOT be a domestic servant but you may be asked to help prepare some meals and help keep the children’s rooms and common areas clean.

What Compensation will Au Pairs Receive?
Salary and Vacation Time.
Au Pairs will receive a weekly stipend of ¥10,000, for 35 hours a week of childcare to be distributed over 5 1/2 days a week. Au Pairs receive two full days off per month and receive two weeks of paid vacation a year.

Monthly Support
Your Area Director will contact you each month to help with your adjustment and answer any questions that you or your host family may have.

World Au Pair in JAPAN's goal is to provide all the support needed to the au pairs and families to make the program year a rewarding experience.
24 hour assistance is available to all our Host Families and Au Pairs.

Your job will entail
